title: "Checkout v2: Adjustments to your Google and Meta connections"
---

As we already announced, Bolder launched a [new version of the checkout](/en/cart-checkout/el-nuevo-checkout-bolder), designed as a single-page, single-column experience with an optimized interface and a simpler, cleaner design.

This change is not just a design update. Checkout v2 is built on a new architecture and new technologies that deliver better performance for users and better support for mobile devices. As part of this new foundation, the way data is sent to Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Meta was also optimized.

**If you use custom tags in GTM, this optimization requires you to review and adjust some settings so your measurements keep working correctly in v2.**

## What you need to adjust

**Custom tags with URL matching.** If you have tags in GTM that fire based on a checkout URL match, you need to change them to point to the new URL. This applies to **every custom tag that uses the checkout URL as a reference**, not just the purchase event.

- **Order confirmed URL in v1:** /paid
- **Order confirmed URL in v2:** /success

**Purchase event.** Creating the purchase event stays the same and is **no longer required**. If you already set it up by following Bolder's guide, you can keep it as it is, with no need to change it.

This adjustment is made directly in your GTM account, at your own discretion. Bolder does not make changes for you: this guide is informational, so you know what to check before the new checkout is active in your store.

## Considerations

- **If your store switches to v2 and you don't update your tags with URL matching, you will have measurement errors.** The new checkout never reaches the /paid URL, so any tag that depends on that match will simply not fire.
- Review all your custom tags in GTM that reference the checkout URL, not only those tied to the purchase event.

**Frequently asked questions**

**Do I need to make this change now?** It depends on whether your store is already using checkout v2. If you are still on v1, your current tags keep working. If you already migrated to v2 (or when you do), you need to update the URL in your tags with URL matching.

**Do I have to create the purchase event again?** No. If you already set it up with Bolder's guide, it keeps working with no changes. Creating this event is also not required for those who don't have it yet.

**How do I know if my tags stopped working?** If your store is on checkout v2 and you have tags that look for the /paid URL, those tags will not fire, since that path no longer exists in v2. Check in GTM whether you have tags with that setup and update them to /success.

**Important:** before changing tags in production or making bulk changes to your GTM setup, assess the impact on your active measurements. If you have questions about which tags affect you, contact Bolder support.

*Review your custom tags in GTM and get your account ready for the switch to checkout v2 ahead of time, so you avoid interruptions in your Google and Meta measurements. If you have any questions about your specific setup, contact Bolder support.*
