> To give you new tools and improvements, we have added a new feature to manage the **duration** of *orders in progress*, *pending payment* and *incomplete* orders.

According to the **regulations for online commerce**, the purchase price of a product and/or service displayed in an e-commerce store must be honored, and must be the same value when the customer completes the transaction. Under this premise, Bolder stores keep the product data shown to the customer, in their built carts and pending payment orders, for a period of 14 days, following current regulations.

Since this period can be too long and can also **be subject to prices or sale campaigns**, we have added a new feature to change this retention period.

> When you make this change it is important to **clearly tell** your customers the associated terms, policies and/or conditions, stating this information about the time periods.

To make this change, from the ***Panel*** > in ***Preferences > Purchase options*** >[Abandoned carts](https://panel.onbolder.com/admin/preferences/buying), you will find **"Cart and order duration"** and under this section, **"Price validity"**

Here you can choose to change:

-   **Cart duration** (orders in progress):
    
    The process in which a customer adds products to their cart without starting the checkout. You can keep it for 14 days, 7 days or 3 days before it is deleted.
    
-   **Duration of orders pending payment**:
    
    An order that was placed in your Bolder store, where the customer completed and entered their information for the whole checkout process, but did not finish the corresponding payment.
    
    You can choose no automatic expiration, 14 days, 7 days or 3 days before it is deleted.
    
    Once the set period is over, these orders will be canceled automatically.
    
-   **Duration of incomplete orders:**
    
    The process in which a customer reaches the checkout but does not complete all the steps needed to place that order.
    
    You can choose no automatic expiration, 14 days, 7 days or 3 days before it is deleted.
    
    Once the set period is over, these orders will be canceled automatically.
    
      
    
-   **Price validity in cart:**
    
    The price stays unchanged in the user's cart for the set period of time. If you leave the default option "prices are honored forever", the amount will be kept for 14 days in the cart until it is deleted, or for the amount of time set for the cart duration.
    
    The "Update price" option is ideal for changing the price of products once you save the change on each of them. It only takes a couple of minutes to show up. You can also choose the duration period between 1 and 24 hours.
    
    In this section, you can set whether changes will apply to all orders, or only those with automatic payments, and whether discounts and promotions will be kept in the cart.
    

Once you make this change to the cart and order duration, remember to **save the settings** so they apply to your store.
