title: "Sync"
---

***Sync*** is *a master key* designed to integrate and sync your ecommerce with other systems that are essential to running your business, such as ERPs, CRMs and the most popular marketplaces.

Through API integrations, real-time connections are established between your ecommerce and other platforms, automating critical processes and ensuring precise control of information, so your business can scale without losing operational control.

> **Note**
>
> This feature is available from the **Standard plan** onward and activating it is optional. Depending on the active services, ***Sync*** has an additional cost on top of your plan.

## How it works

The key to ***Sync*** working correctly is the setup of services and channels.

### Services: *External platforms*

A service is any external platform that your online store integrates with to exchange information. These can be shipping platforms, inventory management systems, marketplaces, among others. Syncing via API lets your ecommerce connect directly to these services to get data in real time. ### Channels: where the sale happens

A channel is the interface that external services connect to, and where the sale or the final status change of an order or product takes place. If you are connecting an integration with your Bolder ecommerce, the channel is Bolder.

A service that works as a sales platform can be activated as

The channel is the entry point to the settings needed for syncs to work correctly.

### Connections

Connections set up communication between your ecommerce and external services. Once a connection is set up, any change the integration covers, such as an inventory update or the arrival of a new order, is reflected in real time on the other side.

Each **channel** can have different types of **connections**.

When you create a connection you must specify the source and the target, meaning where the information is sent from and who receives it.

This can vary in each case, since information is not sent in both directions.

## Activation and initial setup

### To activate this feature:

1. Go to the Bolder admin panel.
2. Go to the *Addons and Integrations* section and activate **Sync.**
