Pending payment order
A pending order is an order for which payment has not been received yet.
These orders are waiting for payment and cannot be processed until the payment is received and confirmed.
Once the payment is received, the order state changes to “confirmed” and the inventory of the product or products included in the order is reduced.
Some of the actions a merchant can take to manage pending orders are:
- Send reminders to the customer to complete the payment.
- Help the customer with the payment process.
- Set a time limit for the customer to complete the payment before the order is automatically canceled.
Confirmed order
A confirmed order in Bolder is an order for which payment has been received and verified. This means that the money has been transferred and received.
Once an order is confirmed, the order is processed and the shipment of the product or products included in the order is prepared. The inventory of the product or products included in the order is also reduced.
It is an important stage in the ecommerce purchase process, since the order starts being processed. This can include checking product availability, preparing the package for shipping, generating an invoice or purchase receipt and notifying the customer that their order is being processed. The inventory of the products included in the order is also reduced.
Completed order
A completed order is an order that has been processed, delivered and received by the customer. This means that the purchase process has finished successfully. The customer has received the product or products included in the order and has confirmed receipt.
It is important to note that the delivery and receipt process can vary depending on the shipping method used and the store’s delivery policy.
For physical products, it means the purchase process has finished successfully. The customer has received the product or products included in the order and has confirmed receipt.
For digital products, it means the purchase process has finished successfully, the customer has received the digital product, either through a download link or an activation key, and has confirmed receipt.
Remember that the delivery and receipt process can vary depending on the shipping method used and the store’s delivery policy.
The Completed state changes automatically if the order was previously confirmed and has been delivered, but this state can also be set deliberately, which means it has not necessarily gone through this process.
Canceled order
A canceled order is a purchase request that was canceled before being processed, either by the customer or by the merchant. There can be several reasons for canceling an order, some of which may include:
-
The customer changed their mind and decided not to buy the product or products included in the order.
-
The product was no longer available in inventory.
-
The customer could not complete the payment process.
-
The customer provided incorrect contact or payment information.
-
The customer did not meet the store’s purchase conditions.
-
In any case, once an order is canceled, the purchase process stops and the order is not processed. When an order is canceled, the inventory of the product or products included in the order is not affected. It is important to note that a canceled order does not mean it was paid, only that it was canceled before being processed.
